We just moved to Old Lyme and were excited to find the few lovely restaurants in the delightful town of Chester. We heard of L&E from another chef in the area. Being a chef myself I was looking forward to this dinner which we enjoyed last night.

We had an out of town guest and we all ordered the prix fixe. It was delicious, well presented (although portions were a bit on the small side) and the staff and atmosphere were wonderful. We had delicious arugula salads with goat cheese ( I would have liked a little more cheese and bread, they served exactly one piece of bread each) and an entree of lamb shoulder perfectly cooked on top of a butternut squash puree which was smooth, creamy and full of flavor. The chocolate pots de creme was pure heaven.

Very intimate, comfortable bistro style restaurant with just the right lighting and delicious food. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is the portion sizes were a bit small. We will be back!
